Rims and Handles”
Produced and directed by Jim
Williams, Amberwood Video Production, Lake Ridge, Virginia.
Filmed in Fairfax, Virginia.
Contains 72 minutes of detailed
demonstrations and instruction. Here
are some of the highlights from the video:
Jane shows how to alter a collared-in rim. This adds a nice decorative touch to a vase.

Jane flips up a flared-out
rim to make a basket shaped. Later she adds a twisted
basket handle.

Here Jane is demonstrating
three different pitcher spouts. In the video, you will be
able to watch this from the side and looking down from above.

Here Jane is altering a split rim containing red iron
oxide wash. These are just a few of the different rim designs Jane
shows you how to create.

Jane demonstrates how to pull a handle. Then she uses this technique of pulling it off the
pot for a more attractive result.

Jane shows you how to create several different rolled
handles. Here she is attaching one of these handles to a
casserole.

Jane shows you how to create a twisted coil handle
and apply it to the basket seen before. With a little practice and patience, you can adapt
these techniques to your designs.
